LIFE: I am a Massachusetts native and if you ask me where I am from, even after 31 years in San Diego CA, I will say... Massachusetts. My husband is from Texas and was stationed in San Diego with the Navy. We have been together for 30 years. We are blessed to have two San Diego native sons. I have been a Patriots fan for 52 years this June.
LEARNER: I have been a nurse for 23 years and I remain a perpetual student in life. Each year I set a new goal to work towards because always growing means you always stay new and fresh. My journey in caring for people started as a Certified Nursing Assistant working in nursing homes at age 17, to an Associates Degree Nurse, to a Bachelor’s Honors Student, to a graduate degree nurse with a dual Master’s degree, to a Certified Professional in Health Care Quality and I continue to grow towards a new goal every year. This year I have set my sights on Certified Six Sigma Greenbelt. Never-Ever stop learning.
LEADER: My career journey has included leadership as a supervisor/Director in a nurse triage call center, a clinic and medical office. A person reminded me the other day; it is not a title that makes a leader-very true! I remain a leader in a different way today and feel sincere joy working towards elevating the work and dedication of women.
